David Fry's 17-year involvement in local Scouting has earned him national honours. The 23-year-old Plainfield resident is the first recipient in the Algonquinte Scouting area of a new national award, the Medal of the Maple for Distinguished Youth Service.
Wearing a scouting uniform is a badge of honour, if you ask Nick Fry. "It's a treasure that not everyone gets a chance to wear, " said Fry, a long-time local volunteer with Scouts Canada.
The Trenton and Wooler Scout Groups will be holding their registration night on August 26 from 6 p. m. to 9 p. m. at St. Georges Parish Hall behind Liquidation World in Trenton.
